2. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA) and delivered/protected via Cloudflare. When you visit, technically necessary data such as IP address, date/time, requested URL and browser/device information is processed in server logs. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (operation and security of the site). Data processing agreements exist with Vercel and Cloudflare; transfers to the USA rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified.

3. Approximate location

Our host derives an approximate location from your IP address at the moment of the request to preselect the nearest departure airport. We do not store the IP address or exact coordinates, only at most the chosen airport in the cookie fc_loc. You can change the airport at any time.

4. Cookies

We set cookies for preferences (language, currency, theme, departure airport, view) and for your cookie choice. They are necessary for operation or for the display you asked for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Details and lifetimes: see the cookie policy.

We currently do not use analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4). If we use Google Analytics in the future, it will only run with your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG) via the cookie bar, which you can withdraw at any time. This policy will be updated beforehand.

5. Affiliate links and redirects

Booking links lead to partners, notably Skyscanner (via the Impact partner network). When you click, you are redirected to their site; partners and the network may set their own cookies and process data (e.g. IP address, click time, partner ID) to settle commissions. They are independently responsible; please see their privacy policies.

For settlement and troubleshooting our server may keep a redirect log (which offer was clicked and when, without identifying you as a person). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

6. Account and email (if used)

If you create an account or subscribe to price alerts/emails, we process your email address and alert settings to provide the service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or, for newsletters, on the basis of your consent (point (a)). You can unsubscribe or have your account deleted at any time. These features are currently inactive or limited.

7. Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purpose or required by retention duties. Server logs are normally deleted after a short time; account and alert data until your account is deleted.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR), and the right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Write to us at info@flycheaper.eu.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. in your place of residence or where the controller is based.

We update this policy when features or the legal situation change. The version published here applies.
